Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department aboard Crown Iris.

This position is strictly open to candidates with proven service as Chief Engineer on cruise or passenger vessels. Applicants without cruise-rank Chief Engineer experience will not be considered.

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all machinery, propulsion, power generation, hotel-support systems, and technical maintenance onboard.

Key Responsibilities

• Full management of the Engineering Department onboard

• Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, and Class requirements

• Oversee propulsion, power generation, HVAC, and hotel systems

• Execute Planned Maintenance System (PMS)

• Manage technical budgets, spares, and inventory

• Plan and supervise repairs and dry-dock activities

• Train and supervise engineering officers and ratings

• Liaise with shore-based technical management

Mandatory Requirements

• Valid Chief Engineer Unlimited (STCW III/2)

• Proven experience as Chief Engineer on cruise or passenger vessels

• Minimum 5 years senior engineering leadership in passenger ship environment

• Strong knowledge of cruise ship hotel-support systems

• Experience with maintenance and safety management systems

• Excellent English communication skills

Preferred

• Experience on vessels above 30,000 GT

• Dry-dock and refit project experience
