Senior Full Stack Developer (React + Python) — AI for Publishing

We build software at the intersection of AI, data, and great UX, turning complex analysis into tools people actually enjoy using.

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who enjoys working across the stack, with approximately 50% of their time focused on the frontend web app.

You’ll help shape the user experience, the APIs behind it, and the systems that connect AI-driven insights to real users. This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about polish, performance, and clarity ✨.

Frontend

• Build and evolve our web app using React and JavaScript
• Work extensively with Material-UI (MUI), including: Component composition, Theming and design systems, Responsive layouts
• Write clean, semantic HTML and modern CSS using Flexbox and CSS Grid
• Implement mobile-first, responsive designs with thoughtful breakpoint handling
• Integrate frontend features with backend APIs
• Focus on performance, accessibility, and security in the browser
• Turn complex AI outputs into clear, usable interfaces
• Sweat the details — small UX improvements matter here 🙂

Backend & Platform

• Build and maintain APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Design, consume, and evolve RESTful APIs
• Work with PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy
• Understand and apply web protocols, security best practices, and performance optimization
• Work extensively with AI services
• Deploy and operate services on AWS
• Ship reliably using Docker and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong experience building production-grade apps with React
• Extensive experience with Material-UI (MUI) and responsive UI development
• Deep knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), including: Async/await, Array methods, Destructuring and clean functional patterns
• Strong fundamentals in HTML/CSS, semantic markup, and layout systems
• Solid experience with API integration (both consuming and building APIs)
• Good understanding of web security, browser behavior, and performance
• Strong backend experience with Python and FastAPI
• Experience with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling
• High attention to detail and pride in code quality
• Good communication skills,  including fluency in English

• Experience with state management libraries like Redux
• Familiarity with AI/ML-powered products or NLP systems
• Knowledge of LangChain, vector search, or RAG architectures
• Experience with Airflow or data/ML pipelines
• Startup experience (or the mindset that comes with it 😉)
• Interest in books, writing, or publishing 📖
