QA Engineer Team Lead

Join one of Israel’s leading investment firms and take part in building and leading the QA function for core financial systems.

As a QA Engineer Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end QA processes- starting with hands-on manual testing, defining QA methodologies and processes, and progressing to building future infrastructures, as well as recruiting and managing a QA team. This is a dynamic and challenging role that combines deep technical expertise with professional leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and direct impact on the quality and stability of the organization’s critical systems.

What You’ll Do

• Perform hands-on manual software testing on web and mobile applications (initial phase of the role).
• Design, write, and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Conduct client-server testing and API testing.
• Work closely with development, product, and project management teams throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Define and implement QA methodologies, standards, and processes.
• Support tasks from the specification stage through User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• In later stages of the role:
• Establish the QA function from scratch.
• Lead the implementation of automated testing processes and infrastructures (advantage for candidates with prior experience).
• Recruit, manage, and professionally lead a QA team.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of proven experience in manual software testing- Must
• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role (Team Lead / Tech Lead) within QA- Must
• Proven experience with client-server testing and API testing- Must
• Experience working with test and task management tools such as Jira and/or Azure DevOps- Must
• Experience writing test documentation and QA deliverables- Must
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional certification- Must
• Familiarity with automation testing and development environments- Significant advantage (hands-on automation experience is not mandatory)
• Experience establishing a QA team or QA function from scratch- Significant advantage
• Experience working in cross-functional, technology-driven environments- Advantage
