Data Scientist (End-to-End Ownership)

The Role: As the sole Data Scientist at Worthy, you will play a pivotal role in driving our automation, personalization, and decision-making initiatives. You will take full ownership of critical intelligent systems across the platform, responsible for designing valuable new features and ensuring the reliability and performance of our models in production.

Duties & Responsibilities

• End-to-End ML Lifecycle: Design, train, and test machine learning models to drive operational efficiency and user personalization.
• Production Engineering: Write scalable, production-quality code and maintain ML pipelines; you won't just hand off models, you will deploy them.
• System Ownership: maintain and periodically re-train models, ensuring they meet business KPIs and perform correctly in a live environment.
• Collaboration: Work directly with the CTO, Product Managers, Engineering and Data teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Innovation: Act as the internal subject matter expert, identifying new opportunities to apply AI/ML to the e-commerce space.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Data Science or ML Engineering role.
• Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Technical Stack: Fluency in Python and SQL is mandatory.
• Algorithms: Deep expertise in classical Machine Learning, specifically Gradient Boosting frameworks (XGBoost, LightGBM, or CatBoost).
• Engineering: Experience with version control (Git) and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure, file storage, application hosting).
• Mindset: A passion for building high-impact products and the ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

• Background in E-commerce or Marketplace environments.
• Experience in a high-growth Startup environment.
• Hands-on experience building and exposing APIs (Flask, FastAPI, etc.) for production use.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB.
• Knowledge of Deep Learning architectures.
