A leading financial organization is seeking a Java Team Lead to provide professional and managerial leadership for a Backend development team. This is a high-impact role involving the development of complex core systems, working in a regulated environment, and contributing directly to large-scale, mission-critical products.
The role combines strong technical leadership, hands-on development, and mentoring, within an Agile environment and in close collaboration with both business and technology stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a Backend development team, providing professional guidance and technical leadership
- Mentor, coach, and support developers’ professional growth
- Design, develop, and maintain Backend services based on Microservices architecture
- Work with modern technologies including Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Kafka
- Take part in architectural and technological decision-making, including tool and framework selection
- Collaborate closely with Frontend teams, architects, system analysts, and business stakeholders
- Ensure high code quality, performance, scalability, and adherence to best practices
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering excellence
- Work in an Agile, cross-functional, multidisciplinary team environment
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in Backend development within complex systems
- At least 2 years of proven managerial experience as a Team Lead or in a similar leadership role -mandatory
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with Microservices and messaging systems (Kafka / ActiveMQ)
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes, Git, and Jenkins
- Solid understanding of system architecture and design patterns
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
