Cybersecurity Co-Founder / CTO (Equity-Based)

We’re building a Cybersecurity startup for AdTech and analytics stacks, focused on preventing covert tracking, fingerprinting vectors, and unauthorized data leakage from third-party SDKs and tags. The platform is designed for security and privacy teams that need enforceable controls, detection, and audit-grade evidence in a post-identifier world.

Role Description

This is a full-time, remote role for a Co-Founder CTO at a cybersecurity startup in Israel. The Co-Founder CTO will lead the technical vision and strategy for the company, architect and deliver the MVP, and own the security engineering foundations required for enterprise adoption. Responsibilities include making key decisions regarding system architecture and technology stack, building and leading the founding engineering team, conducting hands-on technical research and prototyping, and collaborating with the executive team to align product scope, GTM priorities, and customer requirements. The role also involves establishing CI/CD, secure SDLC practices, observability, and incident-ready evidence workflows, while continuously evaluating and implementing innovative technical solutions to ensure the company’s growth and success.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and research capabilities to drive technical decisions, define threat models, and evaluate security/privacy tradeoffs.
• Hands-on expertise in application security and privacy engineering (mobile and/or web), including telemetry/egress control, third-party SDK governance, and tracking/fingerprinting risk mitigation.
• Experience building low-latency, production-grade systems, including instrumentation, observability, and scalable service design.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement detection and controls (rules + anomaly detection) for drift/regressions (SDK updates), endpoint/payload changes, and high-entropy signal leakage, with practical containment workflows.
• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to recruit, inspire, and guide technical teams while remaining hands-on as the primary builder in the early stage.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to operate as a true co-founder, work effectively within an executive team, and manage cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong engineering discipline: secure SDLC, dependency/supply-chain controls, key management/rotation, tamper-evident audit logging, and incident-ready evidence.
• Proficiency with modern development stacks; Rust and/or Go preferred (plus TypeScript/Python for tooling), and familiarity with cloud/containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and secure multi-tenant architecture.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in start-ups, entrepreneurship, or building and scaling security-sensitive technology solutions is a strong plus.
