Chief Technology Officer

Job Title: CTO (FinTech startup)

The Vision

At GratifID, we are building the "Identity Layer" for the service economy. We use Phygital technology—specifically Type 5 NFC tags—to create a frictionless tipping and professional identity platform. Our mission is to give service workers a portable, worker-owned digital identity that ensures they get paid instantly and securely, regardless of where they work.

The Role

As our CTO, you will lead the technical strategy for a cross-border organization. You will oversee our engineering hub in Israel and work closely with our US-based marketing and operations teams to translate our product vision into a scalable, secure global platform.

Your initial focus will be:

1. Architecture: Finalizing the integration of Stripe Express for instant onboarding and liquidity.
2. Hardware-Software Interaction: Optimizing our Phygital flow using Type 5 NFC standards to ensure a "zero-friction" user experience.
3. Security & Compliance: Ensuring our data handling and payment flows meet the highest standards for our Delaware-incorporated entity.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Scale: Own the product roadmap and manage the engineering team in Israel.
• Innovate: Drive the R&D for NFC-enabled wearables (rings, wristbands) and card interactions.
• Strategize: Work directly with the CEO to prepare for upcoming funding rounds and technical audits.
• Hands-on Development: In the early stages, you will be expected to review code, architect the backend, and troubleshoot the "tap-to-tip" payment sheet logic.

Who You Are

• The Tech Stack: Deep experience with modern backend frameworks, mobile-web interactions (NFC/WebID), and payment APIs (ideally Stripe).
• Phygital Experience: You understand the nuances of hardware triggers and how they interact with mobile browser environments.
• Global Mindset: Experience working with or leading teams across different time zones (specifically Israel/US).
