A fast-growing Big Data startup operating in the defense & security market is seeking a Hands-On R&D Director to lead all engineering activities.
This is a technical leadership role for someone who still codes, designs architecture, and leads by example.
🔸 Lead R&D team (small team)
🔸 Drive architecture, coding, and hands-on development
🔸 Build scalable Big Data systems using AWS & Apache Spark
🔸 Lead backend development in Java and frontend in React
🔸 Deliver secure, mission-critical technology for defense use cases
🔸 10+ years of experience in a similar role
🔸 Hands-on expertise in AWS (must)
🔸 Strong Big Data & Spark experience
🔸 Java + React background
🔸 Startup / scale-up experience
🔸 Advantage: experience with defense / HLS / government markets
