Software Engineer – Go / Nix / Scala / Kotlin / Ruby

About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer to work on advanced, real-world coding challenges. You’ll extract complex problems from existing codebases, develop production-ready solutions with tests, and document your work. The engagement is flexible – you can work as a freelance contractor or a company hourly employee, with a flexible workload of 20–40 hours per week. This is hands-on, technical work requiring deep expertise in at list one programming language.

Requirements:

• Expert-level experience in one of: Go, Nix, Scala, Kotlin, Ruby (5+ years)
• 7+ years professional software engineering experience
• Strong background in at least one: distributed systems, performance optimization, debugging production systems, database design, or code refactoring
• Access to private or permissioned code repositories with complex problems
• Fluent English and ability to work independently

Nice to have:

• Open-source contributions
• Experience with DevOps, containers, or CI/CD pipelines
• Experience reviewing code quality
