Embedded Software Team Leader

 A leading technology company developing complex, high-reliability systems is seeking an Embedded Software Team Leader to lead the development of low-level embedded software in demanding, mission-critical environments.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role combining deep technical expertise with team management, system-level responsibility, and close collaboration with hardware teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop embedded software and firmware for complex systems
• Manage a local development team and an offshore team
• Perform hardware bring-up activities, including board-level debugging, bootloader development, and peripheral integration
• Work closely with hardware engineers to validate, integrate, and optimize system functionality
• Design and develop highly reliable, fault-tolerant, and robust software for real-time systems
• Debug complex hardware–software interaction issues
• Optimize software performance for real-time and resource-constrained environments

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in embedded software / firmware development
• 5+ years of experience leading and managing development teams
• Strong proficiency in C / C++
• Proven experience with Embedded Linux
• Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, bootloaders, memory interfaces, and device drivers
• Experience with real-time systems and low-level embedded programming
• Solid understanding of networking and binary communication protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Xilinx-based platforms
• Familiarity with Yocto / PetaLinux build systems
• Knowledge of OpenMP and parallel computing optimizations
• Background in developing complex or mission-critical systems
