Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Reports to: CEO

We are seeking a deeply technical CTO to lead the architecture, development, and execution of advanced underwater surveillance and sensing systems. The ideal candidate combines strong signal processing expertise, machine learning / AI knowledge, and proven technical leadership, with the ability to move from concept to deployed systems.

The CTO must be a technologist, actively involved in system design, algorithms, and technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

Technology & Architecture

• Define and own the end-to-end technology vision and roadmap for underwater surveillance systems.
• Lead the design of signal processing pipelines for sonar, acoustic, or multi-sensor underwater data.
• Architect scalable, robust systems combining hardware, firmware, and software.
• Ensure system performance, reliability, and security in harsh underwater environments.

AI / Machine Learning

• Drive the application of ML and AI for detection, classification, tracking, and anomaly detection.
• Oversee development of models for acoustic signal analysis, sensor fusion, and real-time inference.
• Guide data strategy: data collection, labeling, training, validation, and deployment.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor and lead engineering teams (signal processing, ML, embedded, software, hardware) on prototypes developments
• Actively contribute to algorithm design, code reviews, multi discipline system engineering and technical problem-solving.
• Make critical technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Build and scale a high-performing technical teams.

Execution & Collaboration

• Work closely with product, operations, and business leadership to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support customer engagements, pilots, and system demonstrations when needed.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory, defense, maritime, or commercial standards (as applicable).

Technical Expertise

• Strong background in signal processing (acoustic / sonar / radar / time-series signals).
• Solid experience with multi-discipline systems, Machine Learning and AI, including applied models in real-world systems.
• Deep understanding of underwater or maritime systems (sonar, hydrophones, sensing platforms)
• Experience with real-time systems, edge computing, or embedded platform

Leadership & Experience

• Proven experience leading technical teams as CTO, VP Engineering, Chief Architect, or equivalent.
• Ability to bridge deep technical work and strategic leadership.
• Experience taking complex systems from R&D to deployment.
• Strong decision making, communication, and mentoring skills
