Engineering Manager

A global R&D center of a leading high-tech company, primarily focused on communications, telephony, and media technologies.

The role includes:

• Direct management of a flat development team, currently 6 engineers, with planned growth of an additional 5–6 developers
• Reporting to a Development Manager
• A mix of approximately 10–20% hands-on work alongside full responsibility for technological leadership
• End-to-end people management and professional mentorship
• Ownership of architectural decision-making, including high-level and low-level design
• Performing code reviews and maintaining high engineering standards
• Planning and implementing large-scale, high-performance systems
• Leading development processes in an Azure Cloud environment
• Close day-to-day collaboration with Product, Design, and QA teams
• Ownership and management of the delivery pipeline
• Working directly with customers and stakeholders
• Cross-organizational collaboration with teams in Israel and abroad
• Leading the development and implementation of GenAI-based products

Requirements:

• 3–4 years of experience managing a development group (team/group level – not senior management)
• At least 7 years of hands-on software development experience
• Proven experience managing 8–15 engineers (maximum)
• Hands-on development experience with one or more of the following: Node.js, Go, Python, Java
• Strong background in SaaS environments
• Mandatory experience in a global company
• Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure
• Proven experience working with microservices-based architecture
