Role Description

We are seeking a visionary Chief AI Officer (CAI) for a full-time, remote position. Initially, this role is equity-based, with full salary to follow upon successful funding. The CAI will lead AI strategy, development, and R&D for our company, combining hands-on model development with leadership of all AI and R&D activities. The role drives innovation in adaptive learning technologies while ensuring ethical AI practices.

The CAI will define the AI vision, oversee architecture and pipelines, and directly manage all R&D teams, from AI research to engineering. The position involves continuous exploration of emerging AI technologies, translating them into production-ready solutions, and aligning AI initiatives with organizational goals.

• 10+ years of experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Advanced Analytics, including senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record in managing large AI or R&D teams across multiple squads or domains.
• Deep technical expertise and hands-on experience in AI, Machine Learning, and NLP.
• Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and maintain AI models and algorithms, particularly for personalized learning or adaptive systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and scaling R&D organizations.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, predictive analytics, cognitive science, and educational psychology.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with APIs, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale data processing.
• Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with large-scale production AI systems and high user volumes.
• Background in regulated or enterprise environments.
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid architectures.
• Prior role as Head of AI, VP AI, or equivalent.
