Mechanical Design Engineer – Production Engineering (Manufacturing Aids & Fixtures)

A leading defense manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Production Engineering team, focusing on the design and development of smart manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures to improve and optimize production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of smart manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures for production floor needs and new products.
• Full ownership of the design process, including participation in design reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR, FDR.
• Close collaboration with production floor teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design of jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage work independently, and meet tight schedules.
• High learning ability, creativity, and a broad system-level perspective.
• Full proficiency in SolidWorks, including production drawings – mandatory.
• Strong understanding of material selection, coatings, and heat treatments as part of mechanical design – mandatory.
• Experience working in a PDM environment – advantage.
• High-level technical English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hebrew.
