Mechanical Development Engineer

PerCiv is a startup in the field of fiber-optic sensing located in the Kinneret Innovation Centre (KIC)

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and implementation of fiber-optic-based acceleration and acoustic sensors. This role requires expertise in structural resonance, acoustic wave propagation, and advanced signal analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opto-Mechanical Sensor Design: Engineering the mechanical architecture of fiber-based sensors, treating the optical fiber as a high-precision mechanical strain-sensing component.
• Wave Propagation & Resonance: Modeling and analyzing acoustic wave propagation in solids and fluids, and optimizing mechanical resonance to achieve high-fidelity signal capture.
• Advanced Product Development: Responsibility for the full product lifecycle, from theoretical concept to advanced manufacturing and packaging.
• Signal Processing & AI: Analyzing complex acoustic data and spectral signatures, with a focus on implementing AI and Machine Learning models for wave-pattern recognition and noise reduction.

Technical Requirements:

• Dynamics & Acoustics: Theoretical knowledge and experience in Wave Propagation in different media and Structural Dynamics (Modal Analysis, Damping, Resonance Tuning).
• Product Engineering: Experience in advanced manufacturing methods, material selection, and mechanical design (CAD/FEA).
• Signal Processing: Proficiency in spectral analysis (FFT, Wavelets) and a strong background in AI/Machine Learning for time-series and acoustic data – an advantage.
