Production Engineer

Overview

Bruker’s Semiconductor Division is a leader in automated atomic force microscopy (AAFM) and advanced X-ray metrology and defect inspection tools for the silicon and compound semiconductor industries. The division offers the most comprehensive portfolio of tools based on X-ray technologies, including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging), and others. The X-ray business unit is based in Migdal Ha’Emek, Israel, with facilities in Durham, UK, and Karlsruhe, Germany, and support offices and sales representatives worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support sustainable engineering releases to production, ensuring DFx accountability across all manufacturing steps in the PLC process. This responsibility includes early-stage collaboration during development, progressing through validation, build, testing, production process optimization, and extending to product end-of-life management.
• Definition and management of configurable Bill of Materials (BOM) structures according to product marking requirements, manufacturing processes, customer selections, and specific customizations.
• Specify and develop the manufacturing and production documents needed to build, test, integrate, and calibrate assemblies and systems.
• Initiate, develop, implement, and maintain product integration and calibration workflows, processes, and tools & jigs needed for the effective manufacturing of sub-assemblies, product integration & final tests.
• Manage obsolescence events and 2nd source initiatives.
• Lead and support product outsourcing initiatives and coordinate with relevant vendor engineering teams.
• Under your role, you will be required to:

o   Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.

o   Determine problem resolutions and implement improvements.

o   Handle technical aspects of quality issues internally and with vendors.

o   Develop and sustain process improvements and quality control systems to reduce production & BOM costs and increase yields.

o   To be the technical point of contact for outsourcing projects.

o   Working alongside teams from various disciplines, such as product marketing, sales, supply chain, and quality assurance, to define the custom product and meet customer specs.

Experience:

At least five years as a Manufacturing/Production Engineer for multidisciplinary products, preferably in semiconductor equipment companies.

Education:

BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an experienced practical engineer.
