We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Board Design Engineer to join our development of advanced, high-reliability board-level power systems operating in demanding technical environments.
Important note: This role is not related to commercial/home solar energy or PV inverters.
What You’ll Do
Design and develop board-level power electronics: DC-DC converters (isolated / non-isolated, POL, high-efficiency topologies) implemented on complex PCBs.
Own the full board design lifecycle: schematic, simulations, layout guidelines, component selection, derating, and design-for-reliability.
Lead power architecture development for multi-disciplinary systems: energy management, load distribution, regulation, and control.
Design end-to-end Power Distribution Networks (PDNs) including stability analysis, noise mitigation, impedance modeling, and WCCA.
Develop MPPT algorithms and custom power-conditioning modules (as part of an integrated system, not commercial PV).
Design BMS and battery charge regulation circuits for advanced lithium-based storage.
Apply high-reliability practices: component derating, environmental constraints, thermal considerations, radiation effects.
Build prototypes, execute board bring-up, perform lab validation, debugging, and environmental testing.
Collaborate closely with system, mechanical, thermal, software, and V&V teams.
Requirements
BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering – power specialization a strong advantage.
6–10 years of hands-on experience in board-level design of power converters (Buck/Boost/Flyback/LLC, etc.).
Experience in PDN design, MPPT, BMS, or other high-reliability power electronics.
Strong proficiency with SPICE simulations, PCB design tools, and lab instrumentation.
Experience with prototype bring-up, measurements, debugging, and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with complex multi-disciplinary systems (Aerospace / Defense / High-Reliability).
Knowledge of digital control, FPGA/PWM control, GaN/SiC devices, EMI/EMC, and reliability standards (ECSS/DO/NASA)—advantage, not mandatory.
