Senior Full Stack Developer – Quantitative Finance

React | Python (FastAPI) | AWS | Terraform

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team and play a key role in building production-grade, data-intensive financial systems used in quantitative investment management. This role is suited for an experienced engineer with a strong full-stack background, deep cloud expertise, and hands-on exposure to financial markets or quantitative asset management.

The ideal candidate is comfortable owning complex systems end-to-end, collaborating closely with quantitative researchers and portfolio teams, and delivering scalable, robust solutions in a high-stakes financial environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mission-critical front-end applications using React and Redux, with a focus on performance, usability, and reliability.
• Build and optimize high-performance backend services in Python (FastAPI) supporting quantitative workflows, analytics, and market data.
• Design and manage relational and non-relational data models, working with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Write efficient, production-grade SQL queries and data pipelines; experience with SAS (PROC SQL) is a strong advantage.
• Deploy, operate, and monitor cloud-native applications on AWS (ECS, ECR, EC2, RDS).
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, ensuring reproducibility, scalability, and operational robustness.
• Collaborate with quantitative, research, and product stakeholders to translate financial and analytical requirements into reliable software solutions.
• Take ownership of systems across their full lifecycle, including architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack or Backend-leaning Full Stack Developer.
• Strong production experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript practices.
• Solid hands-on experience with Python, preferably using FastAPI or comparable frameworks.
• Proven experience designing and querying SQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Strong, practical experience with AWS infrastructure (ECS, ECR, EC2, RDS).
• Hands-on experience using Terraform in real production environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud-native deployment workflows.
• Ability to work independently, reason about complex systems, and deliver reliable solutions in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Professional experience in financial markets, including quantitative asset management, trading systems, portfolio analytics, or market data platforms.
• Familiarity with financial data characteristics (time series, pricing data, corporate actions, risk metrics).
• Experience working alongside quantitative researchers or investment teams.
• Experience with pandas, NumPy, or other Python data/ML libraries.
• Exposure to machine learning pipelines or large-scale data processing in a financial context.
