IT System Engineer / System Administrator

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT System Engineer to be responsible for the operation and implementation of IT infrastructures in multidisciplinary computing networks of various scales – from small networks to large, complex project environments.

You will be involved across the entire project lifecycle: from initiation and lab development, through testing sites and trials, and up to delivery and integration at the customer site.

The role includes implementing solutions, providing support and troubleshooting for a wide range of IT issues across communication infrastructures, hardware, virtual environments, and integrated systems, while ensuring high availability of project computing environments.

You will lead control and verification processes, ensure that requirements are properly implemented, and maintain thorough documentation and knowledge retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, implement, and maintain IT infrastructures in complex, multidisciplinary environments.
• Integrate and support large-scale computing systems in diverse project environments.
• Implement IT solutions and provide hands-on support for a wide range of IT incidents and requests.
• Work with communication infrastructures, hardware platforms, virtualization environments, and integrated systems.
• Ensure high availability and stability of project computing environments.
• Lead monitoring and control processes to verify proper implementation of requirements.
• Document systems, configurations, procedures, and lessons learned to preserve organizational knowledge.
• Work across the full project lifecycle: from initiation and lab environments, through testing and trial sites, to customer delivery.
• Work at customer sites and test ranges in Israel and abroad, including stays away from home for several days when required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a System Engineer / System Administrator in Enterprise or SME companies – must.
• Proven experience and full command in the following areas – must:
• Operation and implementation of IT infrastructures.
• Integration of large-scale computing systems in complex environments.
• Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and Windows Server environments.
• Strong experience in data communications and working with Cisco/Juniper products at CCNA level.
• Installation, upgrade, and maintenance of Active Directory services.
• Setup, upgrade, and maintenance of VMware-based virtualization environments (vSphere, vCenter, VRA).
• Experience in implementing and integrating storage solutions (e.g., NetApp) – advantage.
• International certifications CCNA and MCSE – advantage.
• Strong technical writing skills (documentation, procedures, designs) – must.
• Valid driver’s license – must.
• Mandatory condition: Hands-on professional experience from industry is required.
• Military experience from compulsory service alone is not sufficient and does not meet the role requirements.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
• Availability and willingness to work at customer and test sites in Israel and abroad, including overnight stays away from home for several days when necessary.
