Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer with strong experience in multidisciplinary products, including soldering, laser soldering, adhesives, materials, and product assembly processes. In this role, you will support both R&D and NPI activities by developing, optimizing, and validating processes used in the introduction of high-speed active cable assemblies. You will play a key role in process definition, prototype builds, tooling development, and ensuring high reliability and manufacturability across new products as they transition from design to early production. The role provides the opportunity to influence early-stage design decisions and help bring prototypes into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams to review designs for manufacturability (DFM), influence early-stage design decisions, and support NPI builds through the prototype-to-production transition
- Develop, optimize, and validate product-level assembly processes, including adhesive application, bonding, encapsulation/potting, thermal interface placement, laser soldering, and final assembly workflows
- Define process parameters, work instructions, production documentation, and material specifications for assembly operations
- Troubleshoot assembly and integration issues using structured root-cause methodologies and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and qualify assembly fixtures, jigs, dispensing and application tools, and other production tooling
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, quality, throughput, and overall process robustness
- Support equipment selection, installation, capability evaluations, and ongoing process control for product assembly lines
- Take a leading role in the product qualification process, ensuring processes meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field
- 4–6 years of experience as a Process Engineer in electronic product assembly or NPI
- Strong knowledge of materials, adhesives, encapsulants, thermal interfaces, environmental qualification, and product-level assembly processes
- Hands-on experience with DFM/DFX methodologies and problem-solving in production environments
- Proven ability to work effectively across R&D, NPI, production, and quality teams
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
- Experience as a team lead or technical lead – an advantage
Why Join Us?
- Work on cutting-edge hardware in a high-impact, product-focused environment
- Be part of a collaborative team with end-to-end ownership of technology development
- Opportunities to grow in a Fortune 500 company with startup-style innovation
