As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our versatile development team to upscale our software and build the next gen features and products.

Our Group:

Our R&D group develops the leading tools of metrology measurements for the semiconductor industry.

The developer in this position will join the development of our management system to operate and control complex distributed metrology measurements.

Working in Agile R&D teams, closely with Algorithm, Image Processing, QA, Automation, System, and other R&D teams.

What you'll be doing:

• Design and develop solutions for a variety of software projects and features.
• Defines software specifications.
• Interfaces with internal customers for requirements analysis and schedule. Influence solution and requirements and work closely with product stakeholders and parallel teams.
• Collaborate with different development teams.
• Troubleshoots a variety of difficult software problems. Performs software tests on code and enhancements.
• Interfaces with external customers regarding software issues.
• Compiles data for regularly scheduled or special reports, analysis, and statements.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
• Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
• Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies
  
  

What should you have?

• Experience in developing complex software products
• 7+ years of experience in backend/server-side development in C# or equivalent programming language such as Java, C++
• A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent degree
• Strong knowledge of system software architecture of complex distributed systems
• Team player who can lead and mentor developers in their day-to-day work
