DevOps Engineer – Fintech / Payments Infrastructure

A fast-growing fintech company in the payments industry is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of its AWS platform operating under PCI-DSS constraints. The role involves improving observability, enhancing reliability, and building automation to support compliance and security at scale.

This is a highly technical position—not a “copy and paste” role. The ideal candidate understands trade-offs, challenges assumptions, and designs solutions that can withstand both audits and real production incidents.

The DevOps Engineer will work closely with engineering, security, and compliance teams to maintain a secure, observable, and highly reliable platform.

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure for both CDE (Cardholder Data Environment) and non-CDE workloads, ensuring network isolation and least-privilege access.
• Implement and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Collaborate with architecture and compliance teams to ensure full PCI-DSS alignment, including segmentation, logging, hardening, encryption, and key management.
  

• Design, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitHub + AWS).
• Implement guardrails, validations, and automated checks within pipelines.
• Work closely with backend engineers to enable deployable, observable, and reliable services.
  

• Own the observability stack: metrics, logs, traces, and alerting across all environments.
• Integrate AWS-native data sources (Cloud Watch, Cloud rail, Config, Security Hub, Guard Duty, etc.) into the SIEM.
• Build automated reporting and evidence-collection workflows for compliance and security audits.
  

• Maintain a least-privilege environment across IAM, Security Groups, KMS, and related controls.
• Participate in threat-modeling sessions and security reviews, especially for payment flows and sensitive data paths.
• Review infrastructure designs and changes to ensure simplicity, security, and long-term maintainability.
  

Must-have:

• At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining AWS production systems.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance (GitHub + AWS services).
• Strong understanding of IaC, security best practices, networking, and cloud architecture.

Advantage:

• At least 3 years of experience with Azure production environments.
