Job description
The Institute for Medical BioMathematics (IMBM) is a non-profit scientific research organization developing new algorithms for personalizing cancer and immunologic disease treatments. We are recruiting a computational researcher, an expert in mathematical modelling and machine learning, to develop personalization algorithms for cancer or infectious diseases. The work (70%- full position) will be carried out in collaboration with hospital physicians in Israel and abroad, and the candidate will use clinical information from hospital repositories. The role requires on-site presence and cannot be carried out from home; it may also involve occasional journeys abroad.
Requirements. The candidate should hold an MSc. or a higher degree in one of the following fields: Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics/chemistry/biology, Biomathematics, Statistics (including machine learning), Mechanical Engineering.
Mandatory.
- Position Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in at least one of the following fields:
- Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics/Chemistry, Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Proven experience in scientific writing, including publication as a first author.
- Programming experience in Python, and/or MATLAB, and/or R.
- Preference will be given to candidates with an additional background in Biology or Medicine.
- The position is open to all genders.
