Power Electronics Engineer

About the role

The Aviation Group at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join the Central Engineering and Development Center.

In this role, you will lead the development and integration of energy, power, and electric propulsion systems for advanced aerial platforms — including UAVs, civil aircraft, cargo conversions, and cutting-edge R&D programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of energy, power supply, and propulsion systems.
• Perform engineering analyses, system schematics, and design documentation.
• Define specifications for subsystems and support their development process.
• Prepare test procedures, conduct lab tests, measurements, and system integration.
• Participate in integration and qualification activities on aircraft platforms.
• Generate test reports and certification documentation.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering – must.
• Licensed electrician – strong advantage.
• M.Sc. in Engineering – advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in developing power systems, electric propulsion, or related domains – must.
• Hands-on lab experience and use of measurement equipment – must.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) – must.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary systems – strong advantage.
• Background in aerospace, defense systems, or energy sources – advantage.
• Familiarity with engineering tools such as MATLAB and ORCAD – advantage.
• Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers, in Israel and abroad – advantage.
• Strong technical independence, analytical ability, and project leadership skills.
