System Administrator

As a system administrator, you will be responsible for the reliability, operation and maintenance of the Jerusalem light rail IT and OT systems, including:

• Manage and maintain the organisation's IT and OT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for all system, users and rail systems.
• Manage and support virtualized servers and desktops using technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar. Monitor performance, allocate resources, and adjust configurations to ensure system reliability.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations: Implement and regularly test backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability in case of hardware failure, natural disasters, or other data loss scenarios.
• Identify and fix issues with system hardware, servers, software, and applications. 
• Document system designs, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures for reference and compliance purposes.
• Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure reliable IT and OT environment operation.
• Apply patches, updates, and configurations to software and operating systems across all platforms to ensure they up-to-date and secured.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience as a server administrator or engineer.
• Experience in a multi-server environment with a focus on virtualization technologies and server administration.
• Proven experience in the VMWare suite and deploying ESXi -based VMs.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in managing virtual environments through VCenter.
• In-depth understanding of storage topologies, RAID architectures, and NFS storage distributions.
• Practical experience in configuring and maintaining Linux Red Hat servers.
• Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments and deploying Active Directories.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with Dell and HP server hardware is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications in VMware, Linux Red Hat, and Windows Server management.
