About Next October

Next October is a social organization founded in the aftermath of October 7,

working to connect startups, bereaved families and the Israeli innovation ecosystem.

The organization operates along two complementary tracks:

• Commemoration and community resilience connecting bereaved families with startups to create ventures honoring the fallen.
• A business innovation platform driving growth, partnerships and the onboarding of startups, mentors and funds.

We are seeking a Business Development Officer, a key role leading our unique program that supports startups and oversees all teams connected to this work.

Job Overview

The Business Development Officer is responsible for the overall leadership of startup support activities at Next October and for building a professional and innovative process that positions our platform as a standard of excellence in the Israeli innovation ecosystem.

The role includes management of the core teams that serve startups including external relations, funds and investors, mentors and partnerships. It also includes responsibility for building work processes, service quality and the overall startup experience within the organization.

Full time | Work from home and from the organization's offices | Travel to meetings across Israel | One year commitment

Key Responsibilities

Platform leadership

• Lead and manage the full startup support program, including planning, experience optimization and workflow development
• Define and maintain the platform’s value strategy and quality standards
• Build work processes, infrastructures, KPIs and measurement frameworks

Team leadership

• Manage team leads responsible for partnerships, investor relations and the mentor program
• Provide guidance, develop work routines and strengthen cross team collaboration

Partnerships and opportunities

• Build relationships with companies, industry bodies, government entities, funds and strategic partners
• Develop events, connections and activities that create real value for startups
• Lead meetings with senior stakeholders and ensure effective follow up

Platform identity and experience

• Shape and maintain a strong, consistent platform identity
• Ensure high quality, coherent experiences for startups across all touchpoints
• Represent the platform in relevant business and public settings

Long term development

• Identify field needs and translate them into processes and tools
• Continuously improve support, evaluation and measurement processes
• Provide visibility to leadership and support long term organizational development

Requirements

• Experience leading initiatives or complex systems in dynamic and innovative environments, including partnership work
• Experience building collaborations with senior managers, industry partners or funds
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage complex professional processes
• Ability to engage, manage and develop volunteer and salaried teams
• Excellent understanding of the Israeli innovation ecosystem
• High level of independent work, systemic thinking and strategic abilities
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to lead through collaboration
• Commitment to social impact and the mission of Next October
• Technological orientation (familiarity with Monday is an advantage)
• Excellent Hebrew and English
