Avionics System Engineer – Applications

We are looking for an Avionics System Engineer specializing in airborne and ground applications to join the Conversions & Upgrades Center within the Aviation Group.

This role focuses on high-level application layers that utilize data from communication, sensing, navigation, and mission-system sources to enable operational functionality for advanced combat platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• System engineering for application-level capabilities in airborne mission and avionics systems
• Requirements definition, system characterization, and writing hardware, software, and infrastructure specifications
• Prepare and present system design reviews (PDR, CDR)
• Perform integration and system testing in both lab and aircraft environments
• Develop acceptance test plans and flight-test documentation
• Define flight-test requirements and analyze results
• Provide end-to-end project support through development, testing, trials, serial production, and customer delivery
• Ensure alignment with project milestones, quality targets, and operational needs
• Collaborate with external stakeholders including customers, subcontractors, and partners

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Engineering (Aerospace / Computer / Electrical & Electronics) – required
• M.Sc. in Systems Engineering – advantage
• Experience in design, development, and integration of multidisciplinary systems — preferably avionics – required
• Experience in defining and developing real-time application requirements – required
• Good technical English (reading, speaking, writing) – required
• Experience or strong familiarity with military avionics systems, interfaces, and standards – significant advantage
• Air Force background in avionics system engineering, flight-test engineering, or techno-operational roles – advantage
• Experience developing requirements for System-of-Systems applications – advantage
• Knowledge of navigation systems, sensing, sensors, radar, weapon systems, and avionics applications – strong advantage
• Suitable for candidates coming from C4I / Battle Management System (BMS) / mission-system environments
