About Next October

Next October is a social organization founded in the aftermath of October 7, working to connect startups, bereaved families and the Israeli innovation ecosystem.

The organization operates along two complementary tracks:

• Commemoration and community resilience connecting bereaved families with startups to create ventures honoring the fallen
• A business innovation platform driving growth, partnerships and the onboarding of startups, mentors and funds

We are seeking a COO to lead the next phase of the organization including establishing a stable funding mechanism, building strategic partnerships and guiding the organization toward large scale growth.

Job Overview

The COO oversees resource development, strategic partnerships and organizational operations.

The role includes leading salaried and volunteer teams, building work routines and KPIs, partnering with organizational leadership and representing the organization across sectors.

Full time | Work from home and from the organization's offices | Travel to meetings across Israel | One year commitment.

Key Responsibilities

Resource development and partnerships

• Lead the organization’s resource development strategy across philanthropic funds, government ministries, private donors and business partners
• Build and manage a continuous fundraising pipeline including grants, donations and strategic partnerships
• Develop and maintain senior level relationships with the business sector, government bodies, institutional partners and innovation funds
• Represent the organization in meetings, conferences and events and ensure follow through on commitments
• Identify and create new partnership opportunities that advance the organization’s long term mission

Organizational and operational leadership

• Lead a small salaried team and oversee volunteer teams supporting core organizational functions.
• Build organizational work routines, KPIs and cross team processes that enable effective coordination
• Work directly with the organization’s leadership to support decision making and ensure operational alignment
• Manage the organizational Gantt, track progress and provide visibility on achievements and challenges
• Maintain continuous alignment with senior internal stakeholders and key external partners
• Lead long term organizational planning including strategic thinking and multi year growth processes

Requirements

• Proven experience in resource development including work with philanthropic funds, government bodies, private donors and business partners
• Background in innovation, accelerators or the tech ecosystem and strong understanding of the Israeli entrepreneurial landscape
• Proven ability to manage teams and multi stakeholder projects including volunteers
• Experience in entrepreneurship or leading complex initiatives
• Strong communication and presentation skills in Hebrew and English
• Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and flexibility in a dynamic environment
• Alignment with the values of resilience and remembrance
• Technological orientation (familiarity with Monday is an advantage)
