Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Rishon LeZion for a Machine Learning and Image Processing Specialist specializing in near-real-time satellite crop mapping. The professional in this role will develop, implement, and refine machine learning models and image processing algorithms for analyzing satellite imagery. Responsibilities include pre-processing data, identifying crop features, conducting model training and evaluation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams of researchers. The specialist will contribute to advancing methodologies for precision agriculture and data-driven decision-making in support of Israeli farmers.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Machine Learning, including model development, training, and evaluation.
• Proficiency in Image Processing, remote sensing, and using satellite imagery for analytical purposes.
• Strong coding skills in Python or similar programming languages, and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or OpenCV.
• Experience in Data Pre-processing and Feature Engineering, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• A background in agriculture, geoinformatics, or environmental sciences is highly desirable.
• A graduate degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
