Psifas, the National Initiative for Precision Medicine (Israel’s biobank), is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our innovative technology team. You’ll build secure, scalable, data-driven applications that empower researchers, clinicians, and partners worldwide to accelerate real-world breakthroughs in precision medicine and the future of health care.

This role is perfect for a bioinformatics-minded engineer who thrives at the intersection of Python, React, and AWS. You’ll build and own end-to-end workflows and applications that power clinical-genomic insights, collaborate with product and research teams to ship reliable data services and intuitive UIs at scale.

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications using Python and React, delivering high-quality, testable, and maintainable code

• Develop data systems to process anonymized clinical and genetic data securely in the cloud (AWS)

• Design and implement cloud-based solutions using AWS services - optimizing for time, cost, and availability at scale (petabytes)

• Own your deployments end-to-end with Infrastructure as Code via Terraform, manage environments, and enforce CI/CD policies

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical designs, plan iterations, and deliver value continuously

• Implement secure data access patterns and auditing (row/column-level controls, tokenized access, encryption at rest/in transit) aligned with privacy and compliance requirements

• Document systems, data contracts, and runbooks, and contribute to existing and new ADRs to align stakeholders and accelerate onboarding

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience building production web applications and services

• Expert in Python and React, proficient in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, REST/GraphQL APIs, and component-driven UI development

• Proven experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SES, SNS/SQS), CI/CD practices, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform

• Strong software engineering fundamentals: system design, clean architecture, testing (unit/integration/e2e), and secure coding practices

• Well organized, proactive, and a self-learner, able to own projects end-to-end, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality software in a timely manner

• Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English, both verbal and written, can turn complex requirements into clear technical designs and documentation

• Product-minded engineer, comfortable partnering with Data, Product, and Business teams to turn insights into shipped value

• Background in bioinformatics or health/biotech data, familiarity with clinical/genomic data processing and research workflows

• Experience with healthcare data standards and privacy best practices (de-identification, consent models, data access)

• Experience building products for multi-stakeholder ecosystems (academia, hospitals, industry)

Psifas - led by Prof. Gabi Barabash - is Israel’s national biobank and precision medicine initiative. We connect high-quality biospecimens, clinical-genomic data, and advanced analytics to accelerate research and enable life-changing discoveries. We work closely with leading research and clinical partners around the world, and are building thoughtfully and fast. Our work model is hybrid, with 2 days from home and 3 days in our offices at Bar-Ilan University.
