Vira AI is building the next generation of AI-powered marketing automation. Our MVP is live, running on Vercel, Supabase, and n8n. We’re now entering our most critical phase: moving from workflow-driven automation to a robust, code-based AI architecture built with Python and advanced agent frameworks.

This role is the very first Tech Dev position in the company. You’ll shape the entire technological direction, build the foundations of our architecture, and set the standards for everything that comes next. It’s perfect for someone who wants to grow from Team Lead into a VP R&D role while still being deeply hands-on, writing code every day, and building high-impact systems from scratch.

The first month or two, until we raise funds, would be unpaid, but on the other hand, there is a large stock options package granted.

• Lead all technical development for Vira as the first engineering hire.
• Take full ownership of migrating our agents and automation flows from n8n into a scalable system built on Python.
• Architect the core AI engine: agent orchestration, memory, knowledge layers, pipelines, and integrations.
• Build and maintain our infrastructure across Vercel, Supabase, and additional cloud services.
• Work side by side with the founder to define the long-term technology roadmap and product strategy.
• Recruit, hire, and mentor the future R&D team as the company grows.
• Set engineering standards, development processes, and quality benchmarks from zero.
• Stay extremely hands-on: coding, testing, shipping, optimizing. This is key to the role.

• Experience as a Team Lead, Senior Backend/Full-Stack Lead, or similar role in a fast-moving startup.
• Strong coding skills in Python and TypeScript with proven delivery of complex systems end-to-end.
• Experience building or integrating AI agents, LLM workflows, LangChain, Autogen, or custom frameworks.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native development (serverless, Supabase, Vercel, microservices).
• Comfort taking an MVP, rethinking it, and rebuilding it as a scalable long-term product.
• A builder mentality: you love creating things from scratch and still want to be hands-on.
• Leadership appetite: ambition to grow into VP R&D, lead teams, hire talent, and shape culture.
