Laboratory Technician

🔬 Research Assistant Position – Liver Organoid Research Lab | Sheba Medical Center

Our Endo-Liver Organoid Lab combines cutting-edge organoid technology with classical endocrine physiology to study how gut peptide hormones (GLP-1 and GLP-2) regulate Metabolic dysfunction–Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD).

We’re seeking a motivated, independent full-time Research Assistant with hands-on mouse experience to manage mouse colonies, conduct metabolic experiments, and work with primary liver organoids. This is a primarily hands-on technical role (~80–90% bench and in-vivo work) and an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about experimental research who wants to master in vivo techniques and organoid systems while contributing to translational liver disease research.

We actively support academic development for suitable candidates interested in pursuing graduate studies (e.g., MSc/PhD), depending on performance and mutual fit.

What you’ll do:

• Manage and breed mouse colonies (including Cre/lox systems)
• Conduct mouse physiology phenotyping and metabolic experiments (e.g., IPGTT, injections, serum sampling)
• Work with primary mouse-derived liver organoids and related assays
• Perform molecular/cellular techniques as needed (with training provided)

What we’re looking for:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Biology / Biomedical Sciences
• Valid animal license with proven mouse experiment experience
• Natural problem-solver with excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Uncompromising personal and research integrity

Prior experience in these techniques is an advantage, but motivated candidates will receive full training.
