Senior Backend Engineer

I’m recruiting for a strong Senior Backend Engineer to join a team working on real-time systems in the aviation world.

You’ll have a real impact on technical decisions, system architecture, and the overall product roadmap, while working on complex and meaningful engineering challenges.

What you’ll be doing -

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems using NodeJS and AWS
• Build and deploy advanced machine learning–based systems to forecast real-world turbulence
• Take a leading role in defining the technical roadmap and evaluating new technologies
• Optimize and improve existing backend services for performance, reliability, and scalability
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across backend infrastructure and services
• Implement and maintain best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment

What we are looking for -

• 6+ years of experience as a backend engineer, ideally in a senior or lead role
• Strong proficiency in NodeJS and hands-on experience with AWS services
• Solid understanding of API architectures and RESTful API design
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
