The Role 

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead API Security, one of the fastest-growing and most strategic areas in our security portfolio. This role is ideal for a product leader with deep cybersecurity experience, strong technical fluency, and a passion for building enterprise-grade products that solve real customer problems at scale.

You will help shape the API Security product vision and drive the roadmap end to end from customer discovery and strategy through execution, go-to-market, and measurable outcomes, working closely with engineering, security research, marketing, and sales teams.

 

 Key Responsibilities 

• Own and evolve the API Security product vision and multi-quarter roadmap, aligning customer needs, market trends, and business objectives.
• Drive prioritization and execution in close partnership with engineering, ensuring solutions are technically sound, scalable, and secure.
• Maintain strong hands-on understanding of API technologies and protocols, including REST, GraphQL, and emerging standards (e.g., MCP), and track evolving threats and defenses in the API security landscape.
• Lead customer discovery through interviews, field engagement, and usage analysis to validate problems, refine requirements, and guide product decisions.
• Conduct ongoing competitive and market analysis to inform differentiation and strategic positioning.
• Partner with product marketing and sales to define positioning, messaging, and value propositions that position API Security as a core pillar of F5’s ADSP.
• Support go-to-market execution, including launch planning, sales enablement, and feedback loops from the field to inform iteration and adoption.
• Define, track, and analyze success metrics and KPIs for product outcomes, adoption, and customer impact; use data to continuously refine strategy.
• Act as a thought partner and mentor within the product organization, contributing to a culture of ownership, collaboration, and high standards.
  
  

 

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Product Management experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments.
• Proven experience delivering products in the cybersecurity domain, preferably in application, API, or cloud security.
• Strong familiarity with API technologies (REST, GraphQL, etc.) and API security concepts, including authentication, authorization, data protection, and anomaly or abuse detection.
• Demonstrated technical depth and learning agility, with the ability to understand and reason about complex distributed systems.
• Strong customer orientation, with a track record of translating customer needs into clear product requirements and outcomes.
• Experience building and scaling global products for large enterprise customers.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Highly independent, proactive, and execution-driven; comfortable operating with autonomy and ownership.
• Team-oriented mindset, energized by collaboration, mentorship, and shared success.
