MS/HS Computer Science Position Description (August, 2026)
Introduction

WBAIS and Israel
Established under the auspices of the American Embassy in 1958, The Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel (WBAIS) is a MSA accredited, fully independent, co-educational Pre-K - 12 international school, which offers a robust program leading to a US high school diploma.
With a present enrollment of approximately 450 students representing 40 nationalities, WBAIS Israel is a diverse and vibrant community. Approximately 30% of WBAIS students are American, 40% from countries all over the world, and 30% are Israeli.
In 2008 AIS moved to its current 19-acre campus that opened in 2007 and is located in the town of Even Yehuda, a residential community approximately 20 kilometers north of Tel Aviv. The purpose-built campus includes four separate divisions, a performing arts building with a 400-seat auditorium, full gym, cafeteria, library and media center, athletic fields, tennis and basketball courts, and an olympic-sized pool.
Position Objectives
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Middle School/High School Computer Science teacher who is student-centered and works well with others to support student learning. The ideal candidate should embrace best pedagogical practices, be well-versed in ISTE and CSTA standards and the concepts and practices of computer science, and actively contribute to the school’s life and culture beyond the classroom.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach middle school and high school technology and computer science courses and skills such as Computer Science, AP Computer Science, coding, artificial intelligence, game design, cybersecurity, design thinking, entrepreneurship or robotics.
- Contribute to the development, strengthening, and vertical alignment of computer science and innovation programs across the middle and high school divisions, including integration of AI skills and literacy
- Collaborate closely with faculty members of the Computer Science department to ensure curricular coherence, shared standards, and continuous program improvement.
- Play a central role in building and refining the school’s Design & Entrepreneurship Pathways Framework, ensuring coherence, rigor, and real-world relevance.
- Contribute (and potentially coach) MS/HS Robotics (FRC / FTC).
- Actively engage and contribute to our MS / HS Advisory or iBlock learning programs.
- Give timely and actionable feedback to improve student learning.
- Mentor, evaluate and assess students.
- Effectively collaborate with students, teachers and parents
- Foster a positive classroom learning environment
- Plan, supervise, and support extracurricular and enrichment activities related to technology, innovation, and computer science.
Successful candidates will perform each essential responsibility, in addition to the following:
- Classroom facilitation – effectively orchestrate a class with high learning impact, by incorporating best practices into the classroom.
- Curriculum development – contribute to the development and documenting of curricular documents (unit plans, assessments, standards documentation, etc.).
- Communication skills – proactively communicate to integrate all community stakeholders into the learning process.
- Classroom technology – be familiar with educational technology such as Google Suite and online learning management systems.
- Serving as an advisor/pastoral care role
- Working with students with varying levels of English language fluency
- Effectively employing differentiation strategies for high learning impact
- Collaborating in a co-teaching model
- Teaching in an international school setting
- Contributing to student experiences beyond the classroom, in particular, robotics.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred)
- Current and valid teaching license
- Minimum three years teaching experience in a similar role

Please note, WBAIS does not sponsor B1 visas. As such, only applicants with valid work permits in Israel, or those eligible for SOFA visa status (U.S. citizens) may be considered for employment.
