We’re growing fast and looking for a Backend Core Team, the backbone of Riverside’s next-generation Editor, a powerful, collaborative, AI-driven editing experience used by creators worldwide.

On your day to day

As a Backend Engineer on Riverside’s Core Team, you will build, maintain, and scale the backend services that power our AI-driven video and audio editor. You’ll collaborate closely with the Editor, AI, and Infrastructure teams to define APIs, data flows, and system interactions, while owning critical backend components to ensure performance, reliability, and smooth integration between editing, rendering, and storage systems. You will help shape the team’s architecture and technical vision, set high standards for code quality, testing, and observability, and mentor peers to foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and impact.

What Will Make You Stand Out?

• 4+ years of backend development experience with at least 2 years leading a team.
• Strong understanding of scalable system design, APIs, microservices, and cloud environments (AWS / GCP / Kubernetes).
• Experience with real-time data processing or media-related systems is a plus.
• Ownership mindset, attention to detail, and passion for building infrastructure that empowers product teams.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
