The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Product Manager. This is a highly hands-on, deeply data-oriented role. You will be expected to immerse yourself in the state of the art of data tools, challenges, and our platform’s unique value proposition, work in-person, side by side with our growing product team and the engineering team, and ensure the focused, high-quality delivery of our DataOps vision. This pivotal position requires someone who can both deeply understand complex technical and data challenges, while also translating them into clear product priorities, crisp specifications, and measurable outcomes. Reporting directly to the VP of Product in New York, you will play a critical part in establishing Matia’s product culture, driving clarity and execution in a hectic environment (which we’re very much proud of), and ensuring that what we build is used and loved by customers.

What You'll Do

• Drive Product Leadership & Clarity: Take full independent ownership of the product function, translating complex technical and data challenges into clear priorities, crisp specifications, and measurable outcomes.
• Iterate & Prioritize Ruthlessly: Continuously refine the roadmap based on data, user feedback, and results. Focus engineering effort on the highest-impact work, making tough tradeoffs and cutting scope when needed to ship faster and learn sooner.
• Partner with Engineering at Scale: Work day-to-day, side by side, with engineering to deep dive into problems, unblock delivery, and ensure high-quality, high-velocity outcomes. Operate as the connective tissue between New York product leadership and local execution.
• Engage With Customers Directly: Speak regularly with customers to uncover pain points, validate product direction, and ensure what we build resonates with real-world data teams.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with design, engineering, and leadership to turn business objectives into a focused roadmap and to ensure delivery aligns with company goals.
• Run Tight Feedback Loops: Define and track product metrics, run experiments, and follow through post-launch to confirm outcomes. Make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, reliability, and cost.
• Shape Product Culture: Help establish Matia’s product rituals and standards — from specs and prioritization frameworks to how we define success and learn from customers.
• Optimize Processes: Optimize engineering/product processes, methodologies, and tools to support rapid growth and evolving business needs.
  
  

• Experience: 2–4 years as a Product Manager, ideally in data-intensive domains (data pipelines, observability, analytics platforms, infra products).
• Technical Fluency: Comfortable writing queries, reasoning about optimal data structures and data quality (freshness, completeness, lineage), and engaging deeply with engineers on tradeoffs.
• Execution Track Record: Demonstrated success shipping products end-to-end, from discovery through delivery with clear metrics moved.
• Startup DNA: Thrives in hectic, noisy, resource-constrained environments. Able to work with ambiguity, act autonomously, and keep engineers focused on outcomes.
• Ownership Mindset: A bias toward action, accountability, and measured impact over process.
• Collaboration & Communication: Clear, concise writer; can document specs, explain tradeoffs, and coordinate across NY leadership and Israel engineering.
• Design Collaboration: Ability to review and provide actionable feedback on product design flows and wireframes (Figma experience strongly preferred), ensuring usability and technical feasibility are balanced.
• AI Productivity: Skilled at using modern AI tools (e.g., for research, drafting specs, analyzing data) to accelerate product workflows and increase day-to-day velocity.
  
  

• Prior experience as a PM in a startup.
• Direct experience working with or building data pipelines (ETL/ELT, orchestration, or data observability).
• Familiarity with ML-driven anomaly detection & alerting, including adaptive thresholds and alert noise reduction.
