The British Embassy in Israel is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and has an exciting opportunity for an Estates Officer to play a key role in the Estates team.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate the development of health & safety and fire policies, systems of work and procedures
- Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks
- Ensure that fire safety systems are in place and effective in all properties
- Manage the reporting of health & safety incidents at Post
- Prepare a quarterly update for the Embassy Health and Safety Committee
- Manage a biannual health & safety visit from the Regional Technical Lead
- Complete Health & Safety reports for new properties
- Manage supplier safety and compliance and introducing a permit to work system
- Provide Health and Safety inductions to all new employees
- Manage Embassy Fire Officers and First Aiders
- Coordinate Health & Safety and First Aid Training
- Support estate operations as requested, covering both reactive and planned work
- Process invoices for the Estates team and management of utility accounts
- Provide some admin support to the estates team
- Support the IT team, covering their leave periods
The above list is not exhaustive, and the jobholder will be required to be flexible and take on other ad hoc tasks as required, including participating in the Embassy’s emergency planning and any other response to a crisis affecting UK Citizens.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with a fine eye for detail;
- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules;
- Good communication skills; Fluent / mother tongue level of English and spoken level of Hebrew;
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team;
- Good IT skills, including the ability to learn new programmes quickly.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
- Intermediary level of Hebrew.
- Health & Safety work experience.
- Facilities Management work experience.
- First Aid qualified.
- Valid Driving licence.

Eligibility:
If you are selected for this position, we will be able to employ you as long as you:
- Receive the appropriate level of security clearance; and
- Are able to work legally in Israel.
Working hours and remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including a non-negotiable salary of ILS 11,500 per month plus transport allowance and social benefits as required by the law.
No accommodation nor relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. Parking facilities are not provided nor paid for by the Embassy.
This position is for a full-time employment, on a permanent contract, subject to a 4-month probationary period.
Working hours is 37.5 per week. Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00-16:00 and Friday 8:00-13:30. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of twice a week from the office, based on operational requirements. Flexibility will be required for working out of hours.
Any flexible working patterns may be considered based on operational requirements and agreement with the line manager, and in line with FCDO and Embassy policies.
