Team Leader - Development Chemistry Lab

Role Summary

Lead the research and development activities at Agan Aroma organic chemistry Lab, with responsibility for efficient chemical process development, smooth tech transfer, scale up and effective troubleshooting of chemical processes. Address technical and operational challenges, provide support for the stakeholders and drive continuous improvements in fragrance-related chemical manufacturing.

Demonstrate acquaintance with management of professional research team, make decisions, work independently, and be detail oriented.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage team of organic R&D researchers.
• Lead in parallel number of activities in organic R&D including (a) Process development, (b) Efficiency improvement in existing processes, (c) Validation of processes and methods,(d) Coordination of external research/development team(s).
• Collaborate with ADAMA registration team, product directors, production team, procurement team, IP team and additional internal and external interfaces.
• Assist in troubleshooting production batches; delivery process improvements to increase reliability and/or decrease cycle time and costs.
• Develop and enforce all laboratory safety, security and housekeeping policies and procedures
• Support pilot and plant-scale trials.
  
  

• PhD in Organic chemistry.
• Experience in multi-step organic synthesis.
• Familiarity with and experience in scale-up processes.
• Work experience in chemical/pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with HPLC, GC, NMR and other analytical techniques
• Strong ability to organize priorities, make decisions, and delegate responsibility effectively
• Take ownership for results, to overcome obstacles and to drive change.
• Strong leadership and people-facing skills, including proficiency in verbal and written communication.
• Comfortable in global activities
  
  

• Education: PhD in Organic chemistry with strong and proven background in Chemical Synthesis – Mandatory
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in the chemical industry; experience in process development lab and scale-up – Advantageous
  
  

• Fluent in Hebrew and English (written and spoken)
