Senior Software Engineer

One of our clients, a pioneering company in the field of autonomous drone delivery, is looking to hire a Senior Backend Software Developer to join its rapidly growing team. This company is leading the development of a cutting-edge delivery network using autonomous drones, focusing primarily on food delivery across suburban areas in the United States. With advanced FAA approvals and strategic partnerships with major delivery platforms, they are operating at the forefront of aerial logistics and technology.

About the Role:

The Senior Backend Software Developer will join the Back-Office team, playing a key role in designing, building, and maintaining core backend systems. These include:

• A food-ordering platform
• Logistics and order-tracking services
• Delivery station management tools
• Integrations across operational, logistics, and drone systems

This role is ideal for backend engineers who excel in complex logic, scalable system architecture, and cloud-native development. The right candidate will help shape the technical direction of the team while contributing hands-on to critical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain complex backend services in a real-time operational environment
• Design scalable, cloud-based architectures and system components
• Implement and optimize workflows using state machines and real-time logic
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and R&D teams
• Provide technical mentorship within the team (without direct management responsibilities)
• Drive improvements in architecture, code quality, performance, and reliability

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong understanding of software design and architectural principles
• Proven ability to manage complex system logic
• Quick learner who adapts easily to new technologies and programming languages
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure is a strong advantage)
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to understand broader product and business contexts
• Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
