Design Engineer

About the Role

Join the core engineering team of the Haifa–Nazareth Light Rail project! We are looking for a skilled OCS Design Engineer to support the OCS Design Leader in delivering high-quality designs, documentation, and technical solutions for the overhead contact system. This role involves working closely with site teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal functions such as procurement and sourcing.

Responsibilities

Basic Design:

• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings
• Write technical specifications
• Design OCS assemblies and components
• Define design rules and system layouts
• Prepare calculation methods and engineering reports
• Plan power supply, grounding, and E&B connections
• Design technical interfaces

Detailed Design & As-Built:

• Create detailed layout drawings
• Develop OCS schematics
• Perform engineering calculations
• Prepare installation drawings and documentation
• Conduct feed studies and load analyses
• Integrate designs with bridges and structures
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

Collaboration:

• Work closely with execution and operations teams on-site
• Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Provide input for project planning, timelines, and resources

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
• 2–3+ years of experience in OCS system design
• Hands-on experience with at least one relevant OCS project
• Strong knowledge of OCS technologies and standards
• Proficiency in CAD (2D & 3D) and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and think technically
• Excellent communication skills
• High-level English – required
• Spanish – advantageous
