About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced NVIDIA Technology Consultant to support advanced low-level development on the NVIDIA Tegra Orin (T234) platform. This is a remote, contract-based position focused on bringing up, configuring, and optimizing the Tegra 234 boot process with the goal of booting a bare-metal C application on the platform.

This role requires deep technical expertise in embedded systems, low-level firmware development, and NVIDIA SoC boot architecture. You will work autonomously to investigate, implement, and validate the required boot flow, ensuring the system can reliably initialize and execute custom bare-metal code.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the boot process bring-up for the NVIDIA Tegra Orin (T234) platform.
• Develop and optimize bare-metal C applications for execution during early boot stages.
• Configure and customize the NVIDIA BPMP, MB1/MB2 bootloaders, and related boot chain components.
• Perform low-level debugging and hardware-level tracing across the Tegra boot sequence.
• Work with device trees, memory maps, clocks, power domains, and boot configuration data (BCD).
• Provide expert guidance on Tegra 234 boot architecture, initialization, and firmware behavior.
• Produce clear documentation for configurations, code changes, and boot flow decisions.
• Collaborate asynchronously with stakeholders to communicate progress, blockers, and recommendations.

Must-Have Experience & Skills

• 5–7+ years of experience in embedded systems or firmware engineering (Senior level) .
• Proven expertise with NVIDIA Tegra platforms, ideally Orin (T234).
• Strong proficiency in C for bare-metal / low-level development.
• Deep understanding of bootloaders, boot ROM stages, memory initialization, and SoC bring-up.
• Experience with embedded debugging tools (JTAG, UART, tracing, memory inspection).
• Familiarity with secure boot, fuse settings, and SoC configuration workflows.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking full ownership of deliverables.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platform internals beyond standard Linux BSP workflows.
• Knowledge of ARMv8 architecture, MMU, cache management, and exception levels.
• Previous work customizing MB1/MB2, UEFI, or custom boot environments.
• Exposure to safety-critical or real-time embedded systems.

Successfully boot a bare-metal C application on the NVIDIA Tegra 234 platform with a fully understood and documented boot process path.
