Bar-Ilan University's International School is looking for a Student Life & Welfare Coordinator who can turn a diverse group of international students into a real community. This is a hands-on, people-centered role where you shape the social heartbeat of the school. You’ll build experiences that help students feel at home in a new country, introduce them to local culture, create memorable events, and make sure they always have someone looking out for them. It’s a mix of creativity, cultural curiosity, and practical leadership, with plenty of space to try new ideas and make an impact that students actually feel in their daily lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, initiate, and manage social activities and trips for international students
- Operate and develop the International Student Social Club
- Organize holiday and cultural events based on students’ backgrounds, religions, and countries of origin
- Build partnerships and joint activities with social organizations in Israel
- Participate in events organized by the Student Union and additional campus bodies
- Introduce students to Jewish life and culture in Israel
- Identify and connect students with local host families
- Establish and manage a peer-mentoring program
- Supervise additional social guides and volunteers
- Identify student wellbeing concerns and coordinate support with the university’s welfare services
- Communicate with student families in emergency or security-related situations
- Carry out additional projects and assignments as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven experience planning and leading social, cultural, or community activities
- Strong background in event planning and execution
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff, volunteers, or student teams
- Experience in a similar student-life, community-engagement, or welfare role is an advantage
- Confident use of social media platforms for community engagement
- Familiarity with graphic/design tools for creating event materials
- Solid project-management skills, including multitasking and meeting deadlines
- Excellent command of Hebrew and English, written and spoken
- High level of service orientation and responsiveness
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating smoothly with multiple stakeholders
- Strong coordination skills across different units and systems
- Flexibility to work during non-standard hours when events or student needs require it
- Experience with AI-powered tools is an advantage
- Ability to work from home when needed
- Commitment to the university’s values, culture, and educational mission
