Senior AI Engineer

One of our clients, a well-funded early-stage technology startup, is looking to hire a Senior AI Engineer to join their growing team.

The company develops an advanced generative-AI data analytics platform designed to act as a true co-pilot for data teams. Their product enables business and product stakeholders to interact with organizational data through natural language, uncover insights, and make informed decisions without burdening technical teams. The company is led by experienced entrepreneurs with previous successful exits and is backed by leading investors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, design, build, and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems using state-of-the-art LLMs to solve complex data analysis and decision-making challenges
• Architect and optimize LLM-powered agents for performance, reliability, and scalability, focusing on reasoning chains, tool orchestration, planning loops, memory systems, and autonomous task execution
• Drive continuous innovation by staying at the forefront of LLM capabilities, agentic AI research, and emerging frameworks, rapidly prototyping and integrating breakthrough techniques
• Develop robust engineering infrastructure around LLM agents, including evaluation frameworks, observability components, and production monitoring systems
• Collaborate within a dynamic, fast-paced team to build and integrate AI technologies into the company’s core product

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable, distributed systems with strong emphasis on API design and microservices architecture
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with LLMs in production, including deep expertise in agentic workflows, prompt engineering, function/tool-calling, and autonomous agent design
• Strong understanding of LLM fundamentals: model behavior, limitations, context management, reasoning strategies, and approaches for ensuring reliable agent execution
• Passion for staying up-to-date with the rapidly evolving LLM ecosystem (research papers, new models, experimental techniques, and community engagement)
• Expert-level Python skills along with strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), RESTful APIs, databases, and modern backend technologies
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset for building powerful yet dependable agentic AI systems
