Job Title : Data Scientist

Location : Columbus, OH

Job Type : Full Time

Our client is looking for a Data Scientist to help drive innovation by applying Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to real-world business challenges. This role is perfect for someone with strong Python skills, solid NLP experience, and a passion for exploring emerging AI technologies in a scalable and responsible way.

What You’ll Do:

Build LLM- and Generative AI–based solutions for summarization, classification, information extraction, and conversational experiences.
Prepare and transform structured and unstructured data for model development and evaluation.
Perform exploratory analysis and apply statistical techniques to refine models.
Collaborate with teams across risk, compliance, and governance to ensure responsible AI practices.
Stay up to date on the latest NLP and Generative AI advancements and assess new tools for practical use.
Document methods, findings, and model behavior for both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You Bring:

4+ years in data science, analytics, or applied machine learning.
Strong Python skills and experience working in notebook environments.
Hands-on experience with NLP libraries like spaCy, NLTK, or Hugging Face.
Experience working with unstructured text data and text processing techniques.
Proven ability to source, clean, and prepare data from multiple systems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

Exposure to Generative AI tools and pre-trained LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini).
Experience building orchestration workflows or agentic systems.
Understanding of model validation processes or regulatory expectations.
Familiarity with prompt engineering and LLM evaluation methods.
