AI Engineering Enablement Lead

Overview:

A large financial organization is seeking a hands-on leader to drive the adoption and integration of AI-powered development tools across multiple engineering teams. The primary focus of this role is to embed GitHub Copilot and related capabilities into the software development lifecycle, while shaping organizational practices and enabling teams to use AI effectively, responsibly, and at scale.

This is a cross-functional role working closely with Engineering, Data, Product, QA, and UXteams to define, implement, and continuously improve AI-driven development workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead the end-to-end organizational adoption of AI development tools, with emphasis on GitHub Copilot.

● Provide ongoing hands-on guidance to engineering teams: coaching, pairing, workshops, and problem-solving.

● Define and standardize organizational best practices, coding guidelines, and usage patterns for AI-assisted development.

● Establish and guide a Champions Program to nurture internal advocates and scale knowledge across the organization.

● Evaluate new AI capabilities (e.g., Memory Bank, MCP) and determine when and how to adopt them across teams.

● Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define processes, tasks, implementation roadmaps, and follow-up execution.

● Monitor adoption progress, measure impact, gather feedback, and continuously optimize processes.

● Act as a subject-matter expert on trends in AI-assisted software development and developer productivity tooling.

● Partner in designing and implementing the measurement framework for assessing improvement and efficiency gains.

Day-to-Day Activities:

● Conduct workshops and training sessions at both team and organization-wide levels.

● Support teams directly during integration and rollout phases.

● Enable the use of Copilot extensions, Memory Bank, MCP, and other AI productivity tools.

● Define organizational standards and ensure consistent application across engineering groups.

● Track and communicate progress, usage patterns, outcomes, and next steps.

Requirements:

● Significant hands-on experience in software development (Backend / Full Stack / DevOps / Platform Engineering).

● Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (planning, design, coding, testing, CI/CD, deployment, documentation).

● Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence without authority.

● Experience leading cross-team initiatives in large-scale environments.

● Advantage: prior experience with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted coding tools.
