About Us
Apprentice automates any repetitive task in finance, squeezing hundreds of hours of work in large teams into seconds-long automations. We’re developing unique AI technology that offers a new approach to automation - automation by mimicking how employees do their work. We are rapidly growing and looking to hire our first AE.
The Role
We are seeking a founding AE, a self starting, driven professional with experience in mid-enterprise market sales, to join our growing team. This is a high-impact role where you’ll play a key part in building our sales motion, driving revenue and shaping how we engage with customers.
The ideal candidate is a hunter and closer with a proven track record of selling complex solutions in an early-stage/early-growth company. Experience selling into the CFO’s office is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, manage demos, manage stakeholders, and close deals with accounts.
- Develop and execute account strategies to penetrate new accounts and expand within existing ones.
- Build and manage your pipeline proactively and deliver accurate forecasting.
- Collaborate with founders and leadership to refine sales playbooks, messaging, and GTM strategy.
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success to ensure a seamless customer experience and provide valuable insights to other teams.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Consult to finance leaders (CFOs, VPs, Directors) to help them achieve scalability and efficiency leveraging our product.
Requirements
- English is your primary language, you’re an excellent communicator
- 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with at least 3 years selling into mid-market accounts (company sizes ~500–5000 employees).
- Experience as one of the first 2 AEs in an early-stage or early-growth startup is a must. You thrive in fast-moving, scrappy environments, you are growth minded and have the grit and discipline to be successful.
- Proven ability to consistently exceed quotas and close complex, consultative sales.
- Strong business acumen; able to engage with finance leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Self-starter with a bias toward action, resilience, and creativity in solving problems.
- Experience selling into the CFO’s office (finance, FP&A, accounting, or treasury teams).
- Ideal work week is Mon-Fri, EST work hours (with flexibility around Fridays).
Strong Pluses
- Background in accounting, acting as a CPA in a mid-sized company or
- Experience selling specifically into the accounting function.
- You’ve been a first sales hire before
