Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Python Qt Software Engineer to develop a modern, reliable GUI application and control software for our automated test systems. The position involves building a Qt-based user interface in Python and developing Linux-side control logic that interacts with instrumentation, sensors, and system components.
You will work closely with hardware, mechanical, and test engineering teams to create intuitive tools that streamline testing, diagnostics, and production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop a Python-based GUI using Qt.
- Implement control software for automated testers running on Linux.
- Integrate with hardware interfaces (USB, serial, Ethernet, GPIO, etc.).
- Develop system daemons/services for orchestrating tests and collecting data.
- Collaborate with HW/ME/test engineering to define requirements and workflows.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
- Develop automated tests to verify functionality and reliability.
- Support deployment, updates, and long-term maintenance of the software.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on experience with Qt (PySide2/PySide6 or PyQt5/PyQt6) GUI development.
- Solid knowledge of Linux environments, shell tools, and system services.
- Understanding of multithreading, async operations, and event-driven programming.
- Familiarity with Git and standard CI/CD workflows.
