Algorithm Engineer

A startup working in AI on complex problems with diverse types of data, developing statistical and mathematical models based on AI technologies to predict electricity market behavior.

The company operates across a wide range of energy research areas. Located in Tel Aviv near the train line, combining 1–2 days of remote work, with a team of 56 employees.

Role overview-

• Part of the Core team, working on research-to-production projects.
• Strong research focus (approximately 70% of the time).
• Work on diverse projects including mathematical models, graphs, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.
• Handle a wide variety of data: weather, trading, physical simulations, power flow in the grid, theoretical ML, time series, classical algorithms, tabular data, economic simulations, energy, and climate data.
• Main focus on Machine Learning, with development in Python and Java.
• Goal: optimize and improve efficiency in the U.S. electricity market to prevent overproduction.
• Work with large-scale distributed pipelines and data science processes.
• Apply techniques from statistics, information theory, probability, optimization, and signal processing.

Requirements-

• MSc or a PhD in EE/CS/math/Physics/Stats
• Solid data science research experience of at least 3 years in a data-intensive field (machine learning, NLP, computer vision, signal processing or related)- an advantage
• Deep understanding of at least one of the following domains: machine learning, statistics, information theory, probability, optimization, or signal processing
• Strong knowledge in programming (python, java)
• Track record of excellence
