VP R&D

A fast-growing, well-funded SaaS company that combines hardware, embedded systems, and cloud-based products is seeking an experienced and visionary VP of R&D to join its executive leadership team and lead the company’s global technology organization, driving innovation across embedded, edge, and cloud domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary R&D organization covering Embedded, Edge, Cloud, Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and QA.
• Define and execute the company’s R&D and architecture strategy across hardware and software layers.
• Build and mentor global engineering teams, fostering excellence, accountability, and innovation.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through large-scale deployment in production environments.
• Ensure seamless integration between hardware and SaaS layers, enabling secure and scalable product delivery.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and the executive team to align technology execution with business strategy and growth goals.
• Champion engineering culture, process optimization, and adoption of modern development methodologies.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (M.Sc. – an advantage).
• 10+ years of software and system development experience, including at least 5 years in senior R&D leadership roles.
• Proven experience managing managers and leading global, cross-functional teams of 50+ (hardware + software).
• Experience developing B2B SaaS and cloud-integrated hardware/embedded systems – must.
• Deep understanding of cloud architectures, scalability, embedded systems, and information security.
• Ability to translate complex technical challenges into strategic business impact.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
